Only what the product needs to run. No ads, no selling data, no tracking pixels on the site.

What we collect

We collect it directly from what you type, choose or record in the studio or the app, from your sign-in provider when you sign in, and, only with your permission, as content-free events from your device.

Account. When you sign in we receive your name, email address (Apple may give us a private relay address instead), a profile photo where the provider supplies one, and a provider user ID. Web sign-in is Google; the iOS app also offers Apple. We store the name, email and ID to run your account.
Usage. A count of scripts generated per day, per account or per network address, to apply plan limits.
Optional product analytics (web and iOS app). If you allow it, we collect content-free events such as which practice mode opened, meaningful attempt counts, active time by mode and script section, controls used, coded errors, and whether a generated script was saved or rated. Analytics contains opaque identifiers and numeric or fixed-choice properties—not your brief, script text, recording, transcript, coaching text, recovery key, email address, or free-form error messages. You can change this choice from Privacy in the studio or the Account tab in the iOS app.
Briefs and scripts. Your brief is sent to our script model on Google Cloud Vertex AI to write the script, to vary an opening, and to rewrite a section you ask to change. Stories and pitches are written by Gemini 3.5 Flash. Takes, skits and how-tos use a model fine-tuned for ScriptSeen. A private server copy of each recoverable result is available for 24 hours so you can retrieve it after a connection failure. Expired copies are queued for automatic deletion. Your recent-script history and recovery keys are stored on your device, in browser storage on the web or app storage on iOS. Operational logs contain word counts, timing and hashed identifiers, not script text.
Writing techniques. When you are signed in, we keep a short list of the writing techniques your last eight scripts used: each script's kind, when it was written, and technique names such as “question opening” or “punchline ending”, never its words. It lets a new script avoid repeating the same ending, and it is deleted with your account.
Connected AI agents. Agent credentials are stored only as secure hashes and can be revoked at any time. For OAuth connections we retain the client name, approved permissions, account identifier and expiry. Access tokens last up to one hour; connections expire after 30 days. Expired OAuth records are scheduled for deletion. A connected agent can send briefs, request reference audio and create a private 24-hour project handoff under your account. Video clips added to that handoff stay on the device running the browser studio and are not uploaded to ScriptSeen. In a chat app that shows ScriptSeen's video editor, the edit is kept for 24 hours so you and the agent can both work on it: the script, the names, lengths and shapes of the clips you add, the notes you type, what you ask the agent to do, and which clip goes under each sentence. The connected agent can read and change that edit. The clips and the finished video stay on your device and are not uploaded to ScriptSeen.
When you rate a script, its content and star rating are saved privately in your account until you remove it from Saved scripts. This saved copy is separate from the 24-hour recovery copy.
Payments. Stripe handles card details on the web and Apple handles payment in the iOS app; we never see them. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status, or the App Store transaction identifiers, product and expiry that keep your Pro plan in step.

Rehearsal: hear it and the coach

Reference reads and coaching process the following data when you choose to use them. Hear it sends the script text to our voice server, which reads it back; the audio is cached for a few weeks under a content hash so the same script is not rendered twice. Analyze take sends the recording you just made to our coach server, which measures pace, pauses and emphasis. The recording is processed in memory and is never stored. After measurement, a text-only report, delivery descriptors and short script excerpts may be sent to DeepSeek to phrase optional direction; DeepSeek never receives the recording. Recording starts after you press Record or explicitly ask Scout to listen to a full rehearsal, with microphone permission and a three-second count-in. A recorded full rehearsal is analyzed when it finishes; other takes are analyzed when you request feedback. Say “just rehearse” to open the teleprompter without recording. Takes stay on your device until they are submitted for analysis.

On camera is a talking-head recording in the full-script teleprompter. When you choose On camera and grant camera and microphone permission, ScriptSeen records you reading the script. The teleprompter overlay is only on your screen as a reading aid; it is not burned into the file. The video stays on your device. You can save or share it yourself. ScriptSeen does not upload the video. If you ask the coach for feedback, only the soundtrack is sent, the same way an audio take is, and that audio is processed in memory and never stored.

Live voice coach starts only when you press Start live coach. The full script context, selected line, delivery direction and microphone audio are sent to OpenAI in a WebRTC rehearsal session so the coach can answer questions, demonstrate the line and respond aloud after each take. ScriptSeen creates the session but does not receive or store the live microphone stream. You can end the session at any time, and it closes automatically after ten minutes.

Scout live voice brief starts only when you press Start live. Your current brief and microphone audio are sent to OpenAI in a WebRTC session so Scout can ask questions, update the visible brief fields and respond aloud. ScriptSeen creates the session but does not receive or store the live microphone stream. You can end the session at any time, and it closes automatically after five minutes.

Talk to Scout starts when you choose the live Scout session. It can follow you from your brief through the script, practice room and teleprompter for up to twenty minutes. Your brief, script, current practice context and microphone audio are sent to OpenAI so Scout can respond and carry out the actions you request. A completed recorded rehearsal can send its text coaching summary to Scout for spoken feedback. So Scout can pick up where you left off, it also receives your practice progress from this device: how many takes you made and which words they missed, and, for your recent scripts, when you last practised them and their rehearsal scores. ScriptSeen does not receive or store the live microphone stream. You can end the session at any time; moving between rooms does not start another session.

iPhone camera cues: TrueDepth and Face Data

Collection of Face Data

Camera cues are optional and off by default. When you enable Use camera cues and grant camera permission, the iOS app uses ARKit face tracking, including TrueDepth on supported devices, to read face-tracking status, estimated gaze direction, head orientation and jaw-open movement. These temporary measurements help Scout wait through thinking pauses and estimate face visibility and camera contact during rehearsal. The app does not access Face ID authentication data or create an identity template. Audio-only coaching remains available when camera cues are off, permission is denied or the device is unsupported.

Use of Face Data

ScriptSeen uses the temporary face-tracking measurements only to decide whether a face is visible, detect recent mouth movement, estimate whether you are looking toward the camera, help Scout wait while you are thinking, and produce a brief camera-contact note after an eligible rehearsal response. ScriptSeen does not use Face Data to identify or authenticate you, infer your identity, judge emotion or honesty, build a profile, advertise, market to you, or train ScriptSeen models.

Disclosure of Face Data

The only Face Data disclosed off the iPhone is three aggregate values for eligible Scout feedback: face-visible percentage, camera-contact percentage and sample count. Camera images, video frames, depth maps, face meshes, landmarks and individual gaze, head and jaw measurements are not disclosed or uploaded. If you separately enable Product analytics, ScriptSeen may also disclose coarse camera-active and camera-hold-or-release status events; those events contain none of the three aggregate feedback values and no detailed Face Data.

Sharing of Face Data

The three aggregate feedback values are shared only with OpenAI over the live session's encrypted WebRTC data channel so Scout can provide the camera-contact note. ScriptSeen's servers do not receive or store them. Separately opted-in coarse status events are shared only with ScriptSeen's Google Cloud infrastructure to diagnose coaching timing and reliability. Face Data is not shared with Apple billing, Stripe, DeepSeek, advertising networks or data brokers, and is never sold. OpenAI and Google process the limited data under their own terms and privacy policies. Review the provider policies linked below for their security and confidentiality practices.

Retention of Face Data

Detailed Face Data stays in iPhone memory. A rolling gaze baseline resets when camera coaching stops. The latest numeric take summary may remain in app memory until it is replaced or the app process terminates; it is not written to files, the script library or device storage. Turning camera cues off stops new collection. The on/off preference, but no Face Data, is saved for the next session. OpenAI may retain the three transmitted aggregate values in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days, or longer when legally required, and does not use API content for training by default. Optional analytics events may wait on the device for less than 24 hours, are kept by ScriptSeen for 90 days, and may contribute to content-free aggregates kept up to 13 months; disabling analytics clears unsent events, and account deletion removes associated received events within one day.

Limits on use

ScriptSeen does not sell face data, use it for advertising, marketing, identity recognition or user profiling, or train its own models on it. Detailed face measurements stay on your device. The limited OpenAI feedback and optional Google Cloud timing/status paths above are the disclosures for camera-derived information; camera data is not sent to Stripe, Apple billing, DeepSeek or advertising networks.

Web camera cues (not TrueDepth)

Camera cues are also available on scriptseen.com, and are equally optional and off by default. When you enable Use camera cues and grant camera permission in the browser, ScriptSeen runs Google's MediaPipe face landmarker in a web worker on this device to read the same face-present, mouth-motion and approximate lens-gaze cues. The first time you turn it on, your browser downloads the face-detection model and its WebAssembly runtime from two third-party origins — cdn.jsdelivr.net (jsDelivr) and storage.googleapis.com (Google Cloud) — which receive your IP address and browser details as part of that request, the same as any file your browser fetches. No camera image, video frame or face measurement is sent to either origin, or to ScriptSeen. If those downloads are blocked or fail, camera cues stay off and audio-only coaching is unaffected.

ScriptSeen does not use take recordings or coaching summaries to train its own models. A separate model-improvement preference may be recorded, but it does not cause ScriptSeen to collect script, recording, transcript, or coaching content for training today. DeepSeek processes submitted text under its Open Platform terms and privacy policy, which describe possible processing outside your country, including in China, retention based on purpose and legal requirements, and model-improvement use with available privacy choices. Avoid placing sensitive personal information in scripts you send for coaching.

Third-party AI services and your permission

ScriptSeen's tools run on AI services operated by other companies. Nothing you write or record is sent to any of them until you allow it: the iOS app shows this disclosure and asks the first time a tool would send your content, and you can withdraw permission at any time under Account › Privacy, after which nothing further is sent. On the web this page is the disclosure, and each of these tools runs only when you choose it.

Google Cloud — writing your script, varying an opening, rewriting a section you ask to change, and the reference read. Receives your brief (topic, audience, platform, length and tone) and the script text. Stories and pitches are written by Gemini 3.5 Flash. Takes, skits and how-tos use a model fine-tuned for ScriptSeen, hosted on Google Cloud Vertex AI. The reference read uses Google Cloud Text-to-Speech. A private copy of a script is kept for 24 hours so it can be recovered, and the rendered read for up to 30 days under a content hash.
DeepSeek — phrasing the coach's direction after a recorded take. Receives a text-only report of the take: pace, pauses, emphasis and pitch per beat, how many script words were recognised, the first words of each beat, the delivery descriptors and the tone you asked for. Never the recording itself.
OpenAI — Scout's voice and the live coach. Receives your microphone audio for the session over an encrypted WebRTC connection, your brief, the script, the line being practised, your practice progress (how many takes, the words a take missed, and rehearsal scores, including when you last practised a script) and, with camera cues on, three aggregate numbers: face-visible percentage, camera-contact percentage and sample count. Never camera images. OpenAI's API does not train on this content by default and may keep it for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring.

Your take recordings go only to ScriptSeen's own coach server, are measured in memory and are never stored. We send each provider only what the feature needs, never sell it and never use it for advertising. Each provider processes the data under its own terms and privacy policy. What we use it for

Running the service, applying plan limits, billing Pro subscriptions, and fixing problems. With your optional analytics permission, we use aggregated behavior statistics to identify useful scripts and improve practice flows, navigation, pacing, and reliability.

Who else sees it

Google (sign-in, hosting, the script model on Google Cloud Vertex AI and text-to-speech on Google Cloud), Apple (sign-in and App Store billing for the iOS app), DeepSeek (optional text-only coaching direction), OpenAI (optional Scout voice brief and live coaching), and Stripe (web payments). Each processes data under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not sell personal data.

Keeping and deleting

Account data is kept while your account exists. Raw optional analytics events are kept for 90 days; content-free aggregate metrics may be kept for up to 13 months for product comparisons. Delete your account and its data at any time from the account menu on the web or the Account tab in the iOS app; this also removes your saved scripts, removes your analytics events within a day, and cancels a web subscription (an App Store subscription is cancelled in your Apple ID settings). You can also email hello@scriptseen.com from your account address. Stripe and App Store records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.

Cookies and storage

The site uses browser storage to remember your sign-in, your recent scripts and your preferences, including whether you selected optional camera cues. There are no advertising cookies.

Tracking signals and third-party services

ScriptSeen does not track your activity across other companies' websites for advertising. A browser Do Not Track signal does not automatically change our storage or optional analytics settings; use Privacy choices in the studio to allow or turn off product analytics. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Third-party sign-in, payment, AI and file-delivery services receive information when you use them, as described above. Those providers may collect information about your activity over time and across other websites under their own policies, including for security and fraud prevention. Our no-advertising policy does not mean that every third-party service ignores browser signals or collects no information.

Access, corrections and privacy requests

Email hello@scriptseen.com from your account address to request access to or correction of account information, report a privacy concern, or ask for help deleting data. We may need to verify that the request is yours before providing or changing information. You can delete saved scripts and your account in the product. Your sign-in name and email come from Google or Apple; update them with that provider as well. This policy does not limit rights available under applicable privacy law.

We retain limited web subscription consent records separately from your account for legal compliance: checkout and subscription identifiers, a hashed account reference, the accepted terms version and renewal disclosure, price information, and dates. Verified consent records are kept while the subscription continues and until at least three years after consent or one year after termination, whichever is later. These records do not include scripts, recordings or card details and are not removed by account deletion.

Children's privacy

ScriptSeen is designed for video creators and is not directed to children under 13. Do not submit personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact hello@scriptseen.com so we can investigate and remove it as appropriate. Parents and guardians should supervise younger creators' use, including what they record and send to AI providers.
